This year, The Seoul International Photography Festival held its third show at Garden 5. The 200 works at the show titled, CROSS-Intersection of Reality and Unreality, aim to grasp the trends in fine art photography since the advent of the digital process through the participation of more than 50 artists and participants from 10 countries. The festival is divided into two sections. The first part of the main exhibition is called Tera Emotion. This section features the combination of Tera-, which implies an unimaginably expanded figure. It captures a virtualized reality through edited images. It is a great opportunity to see the creative imagination of Daniel Lee, Oleg Dou, and Steffen Rault. The second section, New World or No World, shows works that turn real space into virtual space. It is worth reading into the narratives that fill up the space in the works by John Goto, Bettina Hoffmann, and Giacomo Costa. In addition, there is a special exhibition featur- ing Alan Bublex¡¯s work, which takes a witty look at the elements in city life, and the surrealistic photography works by Philippe Ramette, who presents himself as a photo-sculptor. This exhibi- tion goes beyond photography as a means of recording a fact, moving in and out of the boundary between reality and unreali- ty and reflecting on the significance of photography in our time.
